A prominent university in Gaza has been transformed into a makeshift shelter for displaced Palestinians after sustaining severe damage from frequent Israeli air strikes and raids targeting its various buildings since October 2023. Once a hub of learning and academic ambition, the campus of the Islamic University of Gaza now houses dozens of displaced families as Israel’s relentless bombardment of the besieged territory continues.
